The Amp is ok and even the bass isn't awful, but the fret nut broke right away, and I've seen that problem discussed here and elsewhere.

This bass guitar is fantastic in sound, and the build is very solid. This is a great beginner package, and the amp has served me just fine, even though it has stirred some controversy in the other comments.

Got this because of the price and to see if teen-ager needing direction could figure it out enough to fill out our little friends and family band. Out of the carton, tuned right up and has enough thump for performances in small bars where we play. Don't know how they can sell them this cheap, but this thing rivals much, much, much pricier bass guitars for playability and sound - even with the small amp which, even more amazingly, is included along with patch cord, tuner, picks and learner-CD for the amazing price. This one impressed me and the story blows away people who hear us perform (Of course our music is very good!!). And the kid - already a great drummer and with a pretty good ear for picking stuff out on piano - picked up the bass rhythm after just a few hours of practice on this thing. One of the best "impulse" buys I've ever made.

This bass guitar pack is an excellent buy if your an up and coming bassist. It comes with everything you need to start playing; bass, amp, tuner, picks, dvd. The instructional dvd wasnt too great but it was something to start you off. The great thing about the dvd is that theres a code to there website and you get access to cool stuff like bass tabs and stuff. I would defently recommend this pack b/c i had no problems at all with my order.

I received this bass guitar yesterday. I'm a beginner, and this bass is pretty nice for the price. It sounds great. However, when I tried tuning it, one of the tuning pegs broke. I may be a beginner bassist, but I have played another string instrument before, so I know how to tune string instruments and not break them. I may have just received a faulty item.
It was easy getting a replacement. The UPS guy came and picked up the item today to take back, and amazon is sending me another one with 1 day shipping for free. so although it is slightly inconvenient that this happened, it has been overall good service and a good instrument up until this point. If it happens again though, this review will sound a lot different lol.
